Smell ya later 2008

Many thanks for Camby for reminding me of the phrase smell ya later. I've been saying it in earnest this year. With all of the craziness going on in the world, 2008 was all over the map. For the most part it was great, and what wasn't great was definitely memorable. Again, in no particular order.

  • Celebrating our first anniversary in May. Being married is awesome.
  • Winning an award for a project I did at work, and going to Boston in September to attend a conference and pick up said award.
  • Anthony training for and completing his first RAGBRAI. I couldn't have been more proud and as always, I was impressed by his will to always complete what he sets out to do.
  • Italy and Switzerland trip. No explanation needed.
  • Easter with my family at our house. Fun to do a holiday with our china.
  • Weddings galore! Cigielskis in New Orleans, Everharts in IC, MacQueens in NY and our first ever wedding in the city we live in.
  • Fourth of July at the farm. Cruising the mighty Mississippi.
  • Anne Marie's boogie pump class. Dancing and working out? Fantastic.
  • The second half of the Iowa football season.
  • Travel to visit family and friends. Missouri, Illinois, Minnesota, Louisiana, Nevada, New Hampshire, New York, Massachusetts, South Carolina, DC, Iowa.
  • The grand and great flood of 08. In truth, we are still dealing with this one.
  • Gordito coming to stay with us, which comes at a trade off because we miss the McDonoughs.
  • Healthy babies born to friends. Good times with the ones we love. Settling into the groove of the life we are building.
  • Food blogging.
  • Have friends move within driving distance.
  • Coldplay's Viva la Vida.
  • Perfecting homemade pizza and balsamic vinaigrette.
