Holiday Card Art

My former roommate Lica's yearly holiday card is a work of art and this year was no different.


This year's is based on the Frank Gehry designed Weisman Art Museum on the University of Minnesota's Twin Cities campus.

Jennifer and I are both fans of Jessica Gonacha's work, but we didn't realize we had both bought a piece from her until recently. We have this on in our upstairs hallway. And you can see Jennifer's here.

Her saturated colors are right up my alley and I love how she mixes elements-printmaking, illustration, etc.

My friend Kieran took these architectural photos of Brown. Aren't they great? Nothing beats the stateliness of college campuses in the Northeast.

We went to a wedding last weekend that was just lovely. One of the coolest things they had was a wedding artist, as opposed to a wedding photographer. The artist paints events, slowly creating the picture as the event goes on. Here she is at the beginning of the cocktail hour. Here she is when we left.

Fight Fight Fight for Iowa

I can't believe college football season is here already. Our first home game is tomorrow. Whomever worked on this year's ticket design did a great job. Way to go U of I sports marketing department!

Stamps

One of the best wedding shower gifts I got was from our friend Crenna. It was a nice card with several sets of stamps, which I used when mailing shower and wedding gift thank yous. I have been LOVING this spring's Beautiful Blooms stamps. They look so pretty and elegant on a colored (or white) envelope

Flowers Everywhere

With this week's warm temps and these flowers from Laura's party, its almost, kinda, sorta, maybe hinting that spring may, possibly consider gracing us with its presence in the somewhat near future.
